Beginner Novice
Build Focus.
Build Manners.
Build The Team.

Beginner Novice is designed for adolescent dogs between 4 and 7 months old who are ready to begin building attention, responsibility, leash manners, and early obedience.

Start The Process
The Adolescent Stage
Your Puppy Is Growing Up.

As young dogs move into adolescence, owners often start seeing more distraction, more independence, more energy, and more testing of boundaries.

Beginner Novice helps owners turn that stage into a productive training window by building structure, engagement, responsibility, and practical obedience.

Young dogs learning in Beginner Novice class
01
Attention

Teach your young dog to notice you, respond to you, and stay connected when the environment gets interesting.

02
Responsibility

Begin building a dog who understands that he has a job to do, even around mild distractions.

03
Leash Skills

Start developing better leash manners, follow-me skills, and early heeling foundations.

04
Impulse Control

Help your dog learn patience, self-control, and calmer responses to everyday distractions.

05
Handler Skills

Owners learn timing, leash handling, communication, and how their actions affect their dog.

06
Teamwork

The goal is not just obedience. The goal is a dog and owner learning how to work together.

What Owners Learn.

Beginner Novice teaches owners the fundamentals of how dogs learn, how to motivate their dog, how to manage the training environment, and how to build useful obedience behaviors through clear communication and consistent practice.

This is where owners begin developing the handling skills and understanding needed for long-term success.

08
Recall

Build early recall habits and teach the dog to come back with purpose and engagement.

09
Loose Leash Work

Develop better leash manners and the beginning stages of structured walking.

10
Stays & Stranger Approach

Introduce patience, stillness, and calm behavior around people and controlled distractions.

Homework Is Required.

This class is homework intensive. The classroom is where we teach you. At home each week is where you study, practice, and improve your handling skills.

Your effort matters. Dogs improve through repetition, consistency, and clear expectations between classes.
